Breaking the Cycle Now is CPNYC’s work toward increasing public awareness and representing the views and needs of the target population to federal, state and local policy makers that can impact the agenda and the lives of children affected by parental incarceration nationwide. CPNYC is committed to being a local and national resource for change through meetings with political representatives, advocacy in New York City and Washington, DC and by giving a voice to a disenfranchised group of young people. CPNYC will provide knowledge based workshops for parents and children to become active constituents and advocates in their communities, empowering them to bring their concerns to the table and influence policy changes in significant ways. The goal of our public policy efforts are to push for measurable, systemic reforms in the ways youth of incarcerated parents are viewed and cared for in the wake of losing their parents.
